V.Lynns Wear Pink Campaign July 5th 2012

Hello its been a while, I have been a little busy working on a few things and I'm sorta backed up on my entries but bare with me I got you.  :)  Well for those who don't know last year in February my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at the early age of 51. I had always been a supporter of breast cancer awareness but never thought that it would hit this close to home.  When she was diagnosed I took it lightly cause I never thought anything bad would ever happen to her I was just like mom everything will be OK we will get through it.  After a few months and a few procedures my mom passed away on July 5th 2011. That summer was the worst period in my life. I grieved for months and couldn't manage to work because I couldn't stay focused on a job. Me and mom always talked about opening a boutique and by her being laid off from her employer of 33 yrs what better time. We never saw this tragic illness in the future. After thought and preparation V.Lynns Premier Fashion Accessories was opened January 10, 2012 V.Lynns is named after my mother Vickie Lynn. Mom absolutely loved anything to do with fashion from clothing to shoes and was really becoming a costume jewelry fan. In her day they loved gold so making the transition over was hard lol- I thought it was just fitting to name the store after her and make most about her with a little of me added.
Breast cancer awareness is a big part of the foundation of V.Lynns, so I try to spread the word to everyone that I can to let them know BC does not have a name on it and it can hit any one of us young or old. I encourage people to know your signs, check the statistics, educate yourself. When most think of BC they always think oh I have to be old to get it noooo honey not the case what so ever. I try to spread the word by getting all ages involved with things that would interest them as well as raise their level of awareness. The summer of last year I started the wear pink campaign by including pink in your wardrobe in some sort of way by wearing a bracelet, a hair clip, a earring, a handbag  or anything pink its endless possibilities. A few would say well I don't have anything pink to wear, well  OK paint your fingernails pink lol its whatever you want to do, and when you look at the burst of pink you will think of all the people that have had or passed on from BC. Last year Polished nail spa aided me with the wear pink campaign by offering pink manicures to ladies who came in and a portion was donated to The red devil warriors of Roanoke ( a local breast cancer org.) July 5th was the year anniversary of moms death and I asked all my friends and family to participate in a celebration of life by wearing pink that day in honor of anyone who have had or passed from BC. Great response and I just want to share some of the pictures with you. A lot of people know of the boutique but don't know the story behind it. If you are ever in the area please stop by 2501 Williamson Road suite 4 Roanoke Va 24012 and will be newly located at Valley View Mall Roanoke Va or visit me at www.vlynnsonline.com- I appreciated for taking the time to read this lengthy post I'm not the best writer but its coming from the heart... xoxoxo

The first one is actually me now and I mean its really crazy to just see the beginning transformation and further lets me know that I don't want to go back. I love being plus size don't get me wrong but I also want to be healthy. These photos are old but just looking back.. wow. I have always carried weight in my face.
